3 Ingredients That Make Our Australian Natural Soap More Hydrating vs. Commercial Soap

Posted by David Nichols on

Ever lathered up in the shower with your soap bar, enjoyed a rich creamy foam, but then stepped out out and found your skin feeling too clean?

By “too clean” we mean dry, and the reason your soap bar didn’t live up to your expectations is because it’s probably pumped full of animal fats and detergents that strip your skin of beneficial oils to leave it feeling squeaky clean, but not smooth and soft.

We don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but as a consumer you deserve to know the facts.

All you want is a long-lasting soap bar that smells good enough to eat, provides a rich foamy lathering experience and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and this should never be too much to ask!

Well, we’re glad you found this article, because we are about to make your dreams come true!

In this article we’ll share just a few of our key ingredients so you’ll know exactly what makes our bars so delectable and because you deserve to know what you’re putting on your skin!

Palm oil

Pam oil, extracted from the flesh of the palm fruit, is the base ingredient in all of our soaps so we thought it’s the perfect place to start.

Now before we explain the awesome benefits of palm oil, we should mention that palm oil has received a bit of a bad reputation, but that’s only palm oil that has not been sustainably sourced. We want you to know that our palm oil comes from plantations in Southeast Asia that have been certified as sustainable by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. (www.RSPO.org)  Every batch of soap noodles has a unique RSPO trace number which links it to the specific palm plantation that the oil was sourced from.

Now that that’s cleared up, let us tell you why we love it so much!

Palm oil contains hard to find tocotrienols, members of the Vitamin E family, that offer powerful healing and antioxidant properties. When applied topically to the skin, they penetrate deep into the skin’s layers to encourage healing from the inside out.

Shea butter

Derived from the nut of the African Shea tree, this rich, indulgent butter is the creme da la creme of moisturizing ingredients!

It has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal to soothe and heal inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis and it’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types.

Shea butter also contains powerful antioxidants to fight the signs of aging and will leave your skin smooth and youthful with a beautiful, healthy glow.

Glycerin

Glycerin is an ingredient we love because it has humectant properties, meaning it helps to draw and lock moisture into the skin.

Derived from pure, plant sources, this is effectively a moisturizer that attracts more moisture to the skin, how can you go wrong?

The addition of glycerin along with our other hydrating ingredients will ensure your skin feels silky clean, rather than squeaky clean and stripped of beneficial oils!

These are just three of the signature ingredients that make our soap bars so moisturizing and rich. At the end of the day you have to try it to believe it so what are you waiting for? Check out our amazing range of soaps here!
